The Seta Multi Filtration Tester is a unique and flexible instrument designed to test distillate fuels including gas oil, gas turbine fuel, kerosine, diesel, biodiesel and biodiesel blends. It fully conforms to the latest 'cold soak' filterability test requirements for FAME and Bio-diesel. It is the only tester that performs both existing IP 387/ D2068 methods and correlates with the new D6426 methods, and offers the possibility of testing other types of fuel and adopting future filtration and filterability test procedures.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

MFT is microprocessor controlled and provides a simple user interface using 2 buttons and the Seta Multifunctional And Rotational Test (SMART) control feature in conjunction with a backlit alphanumeric 4 line display. The SMART control is exceptionally easy to use for selecting different tests, setting parameters and for calibration of the temperature and pressure sensors. The display provides the operator with test procedure information as well as indicating the selected test method, sample temperature, pressure, volume and the test result.

A printer can be connected to provide a permanent record of the test parameters, results and a filterability graph. The software permits the operator to set the test volume of liquid up to 1 litre and a maximum pressure of 200kPa. This allows both specification testing and gravimetric tests to be carried out in conjunction with the appropriate filters and holders.

The fuel sample is drawn from the integral fuel reservoir by the pump, and an efficient pulse damper provides smooth and continuous flow. The pressure and temperature of the fuel are continuously monitored while it is pumped through the specified filter into the waste container. The recorded pressure rise, or the volume of pumped sample that causes a specified pressure to be exceeded, are used by the microprocessor to calculate the test result. Standard tests use 300ml of fuel pumped at 20ml/min.

Verification and re-calibration is simple but secure. The Setalert accessory can be used to alert an operator of the end of the test at distances up to 300 metres.
